After 35 years of public service experience in a variety of leadership roles, I am very pleased to have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to the Now What Facilitation team and their valued clients.

I started my professional and educational pursuits in 1990 when I joined the Canadian Armed Forces. Following my military service, I completed my teaching accreditation through the University of Victoria and spent several years as a secondary school teacher in the Saanich School District. These formative experiences reinforced my strong personal commitment to supporting children, families and our community. In 2001, I found the perfect opportunity to combine all these experiences in a career with the Saanich Police Department.

Throughout my police service, I had the opportunity to serve in a variety of operational, investigative, administrative, and executive leadership roles. These included front-line first responder duties, specialist investigative roles, and several years as a crisis negotiator. My last few years of service were spent as the Deputy Chief Constable, which provided me with ongoing opportunities to support our staff, work with regional teams, and engage with our diverse communities in the delivery of public safety services.

I feel very fortunate to have worked with and led many high-performing teams that have produced outstanding results in their respective areas of specialization. Without exception, all these paths to success required a collective commitment from the team to identifying and remediating issues through honest and meaningful collaboration. While these can be challenging experiences to navigate, they carry with them significant opportunities for improved team cohesion, growth, and performance. In this chapter of my life, I draw great satisfaction from engaging with individuals and groups to help them navigate difficult situations, engage in important conversations, and develop realistic action plans that produce desired results for them and their organizations.
